Originally purchased with a 1980’s side return infill this Bedford Park home now boasts a fabulous light filled wrap around extension with a stunning four-meter square glazing system, a three-panel Schuco sliding door system and two more glazing units set over the side return. The clients wanted as much glass as possible, and they could not have been happier with the result. What’s more even though the property is west facing they don’t need to worry about excess heat in summer as special solar control glass with only the absolute most subtle of tints was fitted throughout. Glass would become a recurring them when a beautiful pair of original Murano glass pendants arrived to sit above the island. Two extra bathrooms were added to the build as was a complete replacement of the classic Bedford Park roof using rosemary clay roof tiles with conservation style Velux windows. The highest possible standard of upgraded roof slope insulation was also added to ensure heat loss and energy bills are kept to an absolute minimum.
